EXPERIENCE

After overcoming many obstacles in my own life, I joined the Marine Corps, serving five years active duty with three deployments, and left as a sergeant. As an NCO (non-commissioned officer), I was responsible for mentoring my junior Marines. After the Marine Corps, I attended college, initially majoring in Criminal Justice at UMass Dartmouth, but switched to Sociology with a minor in Criminology because I wanted to help people, not incarcerate them. I transferred to Framingham State University, completing my degree in August 2018. My undergraduate internship was at Call2Talk, a mental health hotline where I supported a diverse population, including adolescents, adults, and veterans, with concerns such as mental health, grief, substance use, family, and relational issues.

I completed my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at William James College in 2020. I worked at Wayside Youth and Family for two years in a day center, a full/partial hospitalization setting, providing individual and group counseling to clients with various diagnoses, including anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, PTSD, and psychotic disorders. I facilitated a trauma group for men, expressive art groups, and covered CBT, DBT, self-care, meditation, and family relations groups. I also conducted various assessments, including new patient intakes and crisis interventions.

Later, I transitioned to in-home therapy at Kaleidoscope Family Solutions, providing individual and family counseling for adolescents and their families. Today my clients range from adolescents to adults, including veterans.
